A practical hands-on introduction to the terminal 💻. We’ll go over common utilities for navigating your computer, how to make new files, and commands that will make you feel like a power user in no time! 👨‍💻

This will be a hands-on class which means a portion of the time will be allocated for you to try out commands on your own machine. To ⋯

This will be a hands-on class which means a portion of the time will be allocated for you to try out commands on your own machine. To get the most out of this session, please plan to come with your own machine ready for use.

By the end of the class you should be familiar with the following terminal basics.

  • ls (linux), dir (windows), and cd for basic terminal movement
  • mkdir, cp, rm and other file/folder operations
  • echo, cat, head, and tail for looking at files
  • and more…
